Have you ever asked yourself what God’s business is for us? What does He wants us to do? Should it be His business or ours?
“There was once a man descended from a royal house who needed to make a long trip back to headquarters to get authorization for his rule and then return. But first he called ten servants together, gave them each a sum of money, and instructed them, ‘Operate with this until I return.’” Luke 19:13 MSG
In our Sunday School lesson for today, we talked about living faithful, holy lives while we await Christ’s return. Should we worry more about the signs of the times or when our Lord will return or should we focus more and encourage each other to do God’s business until our Lord returns?
We talked about how we are the children of light. The darker our world are, the more it needs the light God has entrusted to us.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Yes my friend, our Father have entrusted us with His light. And it is our business to let it shine for others to see. For others – so they can find hope, help them experience joy, for them to be treated with love, be accepted without judgement and be gifted with knowing God. You see God’s business is our business. He has entrusted us with so much light and love, that many times we choose not to see, we refused to believe and failed to give….. by doing our business.
God’s business or ours?
“What I’m getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you’ve done from the beginning. When I was living among you, you lived in responsive obedience. Now that I’m separated from you, keep it up. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God’s energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure.
Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.” Philippians 2:12-16 MSG
What about you friend, how do you do God’s business? I love to hear?
All good things,
